When Nature shows its harsher side, the days become darker and the conditions tougher, when limits are redefined and unknown paths are taken, then our Iron Dog Racing Team gives its best performance. In a unique interplay of people and iron dogs, the team - consisting of the German musher, Wolfram Schumacher, and his Iron Dogs - challenges the toughest and longest dog sled race in the world in this environment. In the process, it proves over and over again that greatness arises when complete dedication,
pure passion, refined technology and the untamed forces of nature meet. Here, the Alaskan Huskies and musher are bonded by more than their iron will, warm disposition and sheer inexhaustible stamina. There is also the knowledge that they can rely on each other completely, especially under tough conditions. This special bond is the message that the Iron Dog Racing Team carries with it from Germany to the most remote places on earth. And it is the driving force behind the repeatedly breathtaking performance.
"Understanding and trust between man and beast is the foundation for this sport. After adequate training, however, the big thrill is to push your limits under extreme conditions and to defy Nature. My experience and the Iron Dogs make us a successful team."
Wolfram Schumacher
